Darcy Scott is an award-winning Indie-Folk songsmith from Newfoundland and Labrador. Since 2019, he has been performing as a percussionist, guitarist, and singer-songwriter on stages throughout Atlantic Canada.
During the winter of 2019, he recorded his first song – Happy Place – which debuted in the Top 100 of the CBC Searchlight Competition. That same year, he was awarded the top prize in the Newfound Talent Contest at the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival, where he had the privilege to perform his original song – Hold On – to an enthusiastic main stage audience. These early wins lit a fire in the young performer and he has not looked back. His follow up singles – Canadian Folk Singer, 1000 Words and Wasted Spaces – landed in the Top 100 of CBC Searchlight in 2020, 2021 and 2023 gaining national attention.
His debut EP, Wasted Spaces, was released in June 2023 to the delight of his growing fan base. Wasted Spaces is a collection of stories inspired by love, failed relationships, and the sense of being alone. Following the release, he was handpicked as one of 10 artists from Atlantic Canada to participate in the 2023 Lunenburg Folk Festival Songwriters Camp where he had the opportunity to work with Juno award winners, David Myles and Catherine MacLellan.
A respected musician and songwriter, Darcy’s songwriting and stage presence have been called engaging and beyond his years and earned him the 2023 MusicNL Award for Folk-Roots Artist of the Year.
Darcy is currently working on his first full length album with Chris Kirby taking the lead as producer. This album is set to rollout in Spring of 2026. In addition to this, he also signed a publishing deal with Toronto based, CYMBA Music and consistently writing with artists across North America and Europe.
